WORKING WITH C.R.
Regular Communication
You hire me because you want help, and I want to provide that assistance. To successfully serve as your attorney, I listen to you and follow up with effective communication. For this to happen, you get my office phone number and access to my cell phone number, so you can easily reach me with any questions or concerns.
Personalized Estate Planning
You and your family are unique, and your estate plan should be too. I will provide a plan specific to your goals and needs. Your estate plan is an investment. You deserve what works for you and your family, not somebody else’s.
An Easy, Client Friendly Process
As an estate planning client, I will meet with you to discuss your planning goals and concerns as well as take the time to answer your questions. After this initial meeting, I will draft a comprehensive letter detailing my recommendations for your estate plan. There is no charge for the initial meeting or my letter. If you decide to hire me after reviewing my recommendations, I along with the Prior Law Firm team will work to have your plan ready, usually within ten days of the hiring date.
Fees
Before hiring me to draft your estate plan, I will quote you a flat fee so you will know exactly how much my services will cost you. You don’t pay this fee until after your estate plan is complete.
MORE ABOUT C.R.
After representing the State of Georgia as a prosecutor in the Athens-Clarke County Solicitor-General’s Office for over 20 years, C.R. has now transitioned into the practice of estate planning. Although the two areas of practice are very different, his approach is still the same: to ethically apply the law to protect the people he serves and their property. When working with C.R., you can expect him to get to know you, learn what’s important to you, and understand your concerns and goals for your estate plan. Whether it is a will, trust, healthcare directive, power of attorney, or a combination of services, he will develop a plan that not only will achieve your goals, but will also be convenient to use and will provide you with peace of mind.
If you are seeking an estate plan, it is because you have loved ones and even community causes you care about. Like you, C.R. is invested in his family and community. He and his wife Amy have two sons, Thomas and George, and have been actively engaged in both the Athens-Clarke and Oconee County communities. C.R. served Athens-Clarke County as an Assistant Solicitor for 5 years and as the elected Solicitor-General for 16 years. During his tenure as Solicitor General, he served as the President of the Georgia Association of Solicitors-General, was elected to the State of Georgia’s Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council, was awarded Solicitor-General of the Year for 2016 and received the Milner Ball Social Justice Award in 2019. He has previously served as Co-Chair for the Athens-Clarke and Oconee County Domestic Violence Task Force and Chair for the board of the Clarke County Mentor Program, a program for which he has continued to volunteer as a mentor for over 14 years. C.R. also volunteered at Athens-Little League during the 10 years his boys played baseball there and he volunteered for 10 years as an attorney coach for the high school mock trial team at Westminster Christian Academy where one of his sons attends school. He currently fulfills the DJ responsibilities for Westminster varsity baseball games.
C.R. and his family are active members of Prince Avenue Baptist Church where he has been an usher for over 20 years. He has called Athens home since 1999 and is a native of Charlottesville, Virginia. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia and his law degree from Syracuse University College of Law.
